Exhibition “L’œil du voyageur” at Villa Tamaris, La Seyne-sur-mer, France
Villa Tamaris presents a large retrospective of Marc Riboud’s work, whose numerous travels and long carrier are shown through more than 150 prints. Loaned by the Guimet – National Museum of Asian Arts, Paris, this selection shows extensively his works in Asia, where he started to travel during the 50s. Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Japan… but also China where Marc Riboud went numerous times, recording the rapid changes of the country, from the Great Leap Forward to the economic boom of the 2000s and, last but not least, his serie on Huang Shan, the “yellow mountains”, an inspiration for painters and poets.
His reportages on the independences, in Algeria, Subsaharan Africa, and during the Vietnam war are also exhibited, in the vicinity of more contemplative series on Angkor temples and Alaska.
Marc Riboud enjoyed sharing with younger photographers, and a special invitation is made to Caroline Abitbol to present her in depth work on India.
Exhibition “Kolkata to Dhaka, 1971: Marc Riboud’s Lens on History” at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity, India
This exhibition, created in 2021 for the 50th anniversary of Bengladesh’s independance, in collaboration with the Liberation War Museum, Dhaka, and the support of the Alliance française of Dhaka and the French Embassy in Bengladesh, is going to be shown again!
The Alliance française of Bengal and Kolkata Centre for Creativity will show the exhibition, with the support of the French Institute in India.
A conference and discussion with the organizers is scheduled right after the opening ceremony on March 15th.

Exhibition « Bangladesh 1971: Mourning and Morning » at Alliance française of Dhaka, Bangladesh
This exhibition, created in 2021 for the 50th anniversary of Bengladesh’s independance, in collaboration with the Liberation War Museum, Dhaka, and the support of the Alliance française of Dhaka and the French Embassy in Bengladesh, is going to be shown again.
The Alliance française of Dhakawill host the exhibition, enriched by content about Marc Riboud, and about the researches made by Mofidul Hoque, and his team of the Liberation War Museum, who identified some of the people photographed 50 years ago by Marc Riboud.
A program of documentary movies and a talk with the organizers is scheduled at Alliance française on Saturday 15th of October.
